Every year I make a DIY Card Book for Saylor after the dust has settled from her birthday celebration! We had a lovely day filled with lots of friends and family and they generously gave her some of the coolest preschool toys ever created!
And before she opened the gifts, I was trying to teach her to read or open the card and I would read each one to her first…I mean even a 4 year old can learn a little etiquette! And cards nowadays are masterpieces! They are so colorful, inspiring, they have all her favorite characters on them and of course the sentiments inside are definitely worth keeping.
Plus, each year the amount of cards is getting smaller and smaller, so it’s really no big deal to quickly whip these little books together. I’ll try to continue making them as long as she receives cards but might even bundle several years together eventually.
Again, super simple to make.
- Cards
- Hole punch (We R Memory Keepers Crop A Dile works great)
- Grommets and Grommet pusher
- Elastic or ribbon
First, arrange the cards to your liking. I let Saylor pick out which card she wanted on front.
Then hole punch and add grommets for reinforcement.
Last tie them up with elastic or ribbon and you’re done! Such an easy way to get organized and do a little crafty craft at the same time!
If you decide to make one, let me know how it turned out! This is also a great idea to make with your wedding cards, anniversary cards, holiday cards or baby shower cards!
Well thanks for joining me today on this crafty adventure! I’m heading over to Instagram now…see you there!
