Oh I see you’re in my craft room! Pardon the mess, I’ve been busy creating and working on getting more organized. As much as I want to rush and get this room even more perfect, I tend to take my time in finding storage, decor and organization items because I truly want to love the space and the hunt is always fun!
So speaking of organizing, I was in desperate need of an adorable pin cushion. I’ve been using one that came in a kit with other items so it really isn’t that special. I bought my mother a really nice one from Alaska that is rimmed with fur and little Eskimo children. They are surrounding the cushion which makes it look like they are playing with the cushion ball or maybe trying to stay warm. Either way it was dark blue and maroon which are her colors.
I’ve also seen tea cup pin cushions which are so cute! But I found this macaron jar at Hobby Lobby for $5.99 and thought it would be the perfect home for my pins since it closes. Having the pins enclosed helps keep my toddler out of it, so that is a win win for me.
It’s such a simple DIY that doesn’t even require glue unless you insist. But the sponge really stays in well so I didn’t think it was necessary.
What You Need
Macaron Jar (Hobby Lobby) or any trinket box. Unfortunately I can’t find my exact one online, but you can visit the store or here’s a jewelry holder that would also be cute!
Piece of Fabric
Wrap the sponge with the fabric and place inside the jar. Glue it down if you desire and press your pins in. But I suggest making the sponge larger than the jar bottom so that it will expand and stay put. See! Easy peasy!
