Oh you may be wondering what that little dish of salt is in our guest bathroom…it’s DIY Salt Scrub and you’re welcome to use it! After doing days of painting and other messy DIYs, I find having a go-to salt scrub in the bathroom made with coconut oil, really helps to deep clean and get rid of project remnants!
I usually don’t pamper myself on a daily basis but having something like this adds a nice, special touch to a home. I also love the dish! It’s a shell dish I got in Bonaire, so it’s actually a travel souvenir, put to good use! See that’s the thing. We all have little trinkets, dishes and memorabilia from our travels or gifts we’ve received and if you can find useful purposes for some of those items…then your home becomes more organized and you can feel good about using them!
And making a DIY Salt Scrub is super easy! I’ve made it as a gift before too.
All you need is
-Coarse Salt…like sea salt or epsom salt
-Coconut Oil
-Aromatherapy Scents
-Spoon
Basically the only way to mess this up is with the ratio. I suggest 2 parts salt to one part oil. You don’t want it to be super running but more like the consistency of clay. You want people to be able to scrub their imperfections and dry skin off but at the same time not rub it raw. But it’s not rocket science…you get the idea.
Then place it in your bathroom, at your kitchen sink or by your utility sink. That’s always a great place for an oil based scrub. And use a mason jar, some ceramic or a large shell like I have. Pretty. Darn. Cute. And take pics! I want to see how creative you are! So share with me on Instagram using #IamAhostOfThingsToo !
Here’s how simple it is to make and a video I made for HSN At Home show!
