Well it’s officially Fall! Which means time to get the house cozy and ready for hosting, like what I’m doing right now. Soo happy to have you over…come step into the dining room and I’ll show you my Fall Dining Room decor! And for fun, I’ll show you an original photo of the dining room the day we bought the house…4 years ago. You won’t believe it’s the same room!
Oh you like the greenery and er, goldery? Thanks! With Irma having came through two weeks ago, our neighborhood in Orlando and has lots of debris around. So I decided to bring some of it indoors, as it all really is beautiful- lots of large beautiful limbs, barky branches and lots of leaves. So with Saylor in tow, we headed out and filled the stroller as much as we could.
When I got it all home, I thought it would be nice to spray paint the brown magnolia leaves gold. I always have a gold spray paint can or two on hand for any emergency DIYs…case and point.
Once it all dried, I brought it here into the dining room and added a bit to the gold shelves and to our buffet. I think it all looks quite well together, what do you think?
Magnolia leaves really are fun to work with. I love the size of the leaf and how you get a variety of colors with the green and brown, plus the flower. And the leaf is sturdy compared to others; it has a nice thickness to it so making crafty projects like this Magnolia Wreath I made, was easy! Check it out too because it’s really stunning on any door.
So before you buy any greenery or garland for the holidays, be sure to check out your front door for some useful pieces! Plus it helps to clean up where you live. Happy Fall everyone! Enjoy this time of year of family, friends, gathering and giving!
