As you can see here in our dining room, I like to display some of our china. I really love the bone white with a simple gold rim. These were given to us by Husband’s parents. Because the china pattern is so timeless, I try to find other dishes that will coordinate well with them. In Florida, there are plenty of garage sales, estate sales and flea markets and that is where I found my deviled egg plates! I bought two of them, so I can have one on the buffet table and another in the fridge ready to go. But the problem with a Deviled Egg Plate, is what to do with it when it’s not in use? I mean, how many deviled eggs do we really make on an annual basis, really? So I decided to make other uses and share them with all of you!
#1 Fruit Dipping
This type of plate makes a great, easy way to dip fruit or other small foods like donut holes! I placed a small bowl in the center with melted chocolate but you could place sprinkles or frosting there instead. You can also let chocolate covered strawberries harden on the plate too, unless you eat them right away!
#2 Vanity Organizer
Let’s be honest, our vanity areas get crazily unorganized. We throw jewelry, makeup, perfume, nail polish, all on the counter. But this deviled egg plate is both elegant and easily organized a plethora of jewelry both large and small. Definitely pretty enough to display and it really doesn’t look like a deviled egg plate!
#3 Craft Holder
Similar to our vanities, our craft areas get just as much chaotic. From buttons to sewing needles, to paint to clothes pins, we can never really be organized enough. These little concave swoops in the deviled egg plate provide an easy way to see materials and also keeps them separated. It will make crafting and creating that much easier.
#4 Paint Palette
Love to paint? A deviled egg plate makes a great way to separate colors of any type of paint whether it be acrylic or water colors! I don’t recommend using the plate for food once it’s used for paint, but maybe you have a plate that is chipped and you don’t want to dispose of it right away. Repurpose and Resuse!
#5 Floating Flower Lemonade
Lastly, the deviled egg plate can be used as a mold to make a beautiful floating flower ice cube! Watch my video below to see it how adorable it turns out! It’s a simple idea for a brunch, birthday, bridal or baby shower!
