Congratulations on your upcoming wedding! I’m so happy to hear your good news! Planning a wedding can be a lot of fun and one of the best parts is creating a bridal registry for your future together. With so many items to choose from, it can be hard to narrow them down. But if you create a diverse registry with items that are either practical, unique or that show your personality, you’ll be sure to put together a grouping that showcases who you are individually and as a couple. Remember, guests need variety. Some guests will choose items based off price while some veer from registries because they think the items are too common. So have fun with it! Below is a list of 10 items that caught my eye and they are all American made in one way or another. What better way to help our economy and our fellow American companies while guests purchase items for your future! Have a future that is American made and live the American Dream!
1. American Flag by Valley Forge
This company has been around since 1847 and has an assortment of American flags, banners and kits. I thought this one looked unique with a colonial feel to it. Putting a flag on your registry shows your guests you are proud of our country and this will definitely be one of the first newlywed projects you and your hubby will put up together.
2. Marchesa Painted Camellia China by Lenox
Now I know you’ve heard of Lenox before but did you know they have products that are made in the USA? The company has made half a dozen Presidential china patterns for the White House so you know their quality is impeccable! The website is actually very interesting and fun to peruse when you get a chance.
3. Weber One-Touch Gold Kettle Grill
I think this is a fun product to put on a registry. Grilling is something my husband and I do often as newlyweds and we will for years to come. It’s so easy to throw a few burgers on the grill after working in the yard or have a barbecue at a nearby park. This grill is pretty easy to transport and you can use it camping or on your back patio. Weber is the creme de la creme of barbecues so all the parts are manufactured very well. This one is sold on Amazon for a reasonable price. http://amzn.com/B0098HR0WM www.weber.com
4. Longaberger Picnic Basket
Longaberger is a neat company who have mastered the art of basket weaving and making. Like many of these American companies, these skills have been pasted down from generation to generation, making these products iconic to American history as well as practical! This picnic basket is beautiful and comes in many different colors. When you’re newly married, afternoon picnics are so romantic so you’ll find yourselves venturing outside if only in the backyard! The Ohio headquarters is also a large building in a shape of a huge Longaberger basket!
5. Personalized Mr. & Mrs. Hand Stamped Forks by Wooden Hive
Wooden Hive is a newer company whose owner seems very down to earth and simple. She has a great eye for vintage silverware and how to make them beautiful again. She adds small words, dates or personalization to pieces such as forks, cake cutting knives and even dog tags! Definitely a must see site. I love artists who have found their niche and produce nice quality, unique items. Your guests would love to purchase an item like this from your registry!
6. KitchenAid Mixer
Now I know this item isn’t exactly unique. We’ve all seen a zillion of these. But if you’ve ever dreamed of having one, go ahead a put it on the list. Your guests can go in together to purchase you one and since you’ll have it FOREVER, you will always think of those people whenever you bake. The cool part is picking the color that suits you and your fiance. By picking a personalized color, it gives your guests an idea of the color scheme your are going for in your kitchen in case they want to pick up other items. The mixers from KitchenAid are all assembled in Greenville, Ohio. Happy baking!
7. Headboard by Skyline Furniture
Skyline has been manufacturing upholstered furniture since 1946 and is located in Illinois. They make all sorts of beautiful, functional furniture including ottomans, beds and benches. The fabric is high quality with many patterns to choose from. To purchase an item, you’ll have to purchase through a retailer such as Amazon or Wayfair. Putting your dream headboard on your list is not something people see all the time and they might like to see what kind of style you’re going for in your new house. Sweet dreams!
8. Calligraphic Ecruwhite Informal Note by Crane & Co.
Crane and Co. have been creating paper and stationery since 1770! Very important and historical documents have been written on the high quality paper they have made. The company has a museum as well and is located in Massachusetts. The notecards are adorable with the cursive font and blue color. A great gift to have and receive for sure and who knows, what’s written on these might one day make history!
9. Glass Straws by Glass Dharma
These are one of my favorite finds! I bet no one has seen these on a registry before! These are glass straws with different colored dots on them for your house guests to remember which glass was theirs! No need for those wine charms once you have these at your bar. I think they’re gorgeous! They come in various heights and diameter sizes such as sipper, ice tea, smoothie and bubble tea! A very creative company who would love our support!
10. Multiframes Giant Wall Decals by York Wallcoverings
This is also a very fun product to add to your registry since you will be setting up house once you’re married. After the wedding you will have so many photos and what better way to display them than with these nice decals? I think they’re fun. They’re inexpensive and simple to use. The company York Wallcoverings makes all sorts of products and you may want to browse through all the different decor items they have. Mostly wallpaper, but the patterns and colors they have make wallpaper enticing again! Plus with new glues and tools, I’m sure it’s a lot easier to put up.
I hope I’ve been able to inspire you and your fiance! Think of the activities you both do or past places you’ve been. You should make this registry tell your guests who you are and what kind of life you plan to have together. And if you find items that are Made in America, you will be doing your country a favor and for that, we salute you!
