It’s not five ‘o clock but shall we have a cocktail? Come over to the bar, I’ll mix us up something simple and refreshing.
Ah, here you go. Oh but before you take a sip, I thank you for your company and I’ll say a little toast…
I learned many toasts when I hosted Mixology courses on cruise ships and my guests and I had a fantastic time! I accumulated more and more toasts with each cruise as my guests told me different ones from each of their countries. I have to say I have quite a collection and I love each one. Teaching Mixology with the bartenders was an activity that was incredibly memorable and the guests really looked forward to it. On the last class of each voyage, the guests “graduated” and wore their bathrobes and shower caps from their cabins, then I handed them a drink and a diploma!
Here’s a few toasts for different occasions! A great host always has a toast up their sleeve.
Here’s to Good Ships
And wood ships
And ships that sail the sea
But the best ships are friendships
And may they always be!
May the only pain we have be
Here’s to our husbands and boyfriends…
May they never meet!
Health and Future
Here’s to health for the future, a sigh for the past
We can love and remember and hope to the last
And for all the base lies that the almanacs hold
While there’s still love in the heart we can never grow old
Here’s to steak when you’re hungry
Beer when you’re dry
A lover when you need one
And Heaven when you die
Buying a Round
May the winds of fortune sail you
May you sail a gentle sea
May it always be the other guy
Who says, this drinks on me!
Buying a Round #2
Lift em high, lift em dry
Here’s to the man who says,
My turn to buy!
I like to have a martini,
Three at the very most,
Because four I’m under the table,
And five I’m under the host!
A round to the best
May we never get rest
A round to the worst
May they die of thirst
Over the mouth and through the gums
Watch out liver here it comes!
1 Tequila, 2 Tequila, 3 Tequila, Floor!
