Come on in to my craft room and let’s make something cute and simple! Since there are several patriotic holidays throughout the year, I find it helpful to have a go-to table runner that’s super easy to use! So this Red, White and Blue Ribbon Table Runner is great to make!
The best part about this ribbon table runner idea, is you can use any colors and almost any type of ribbon you want. You can also make it as wide or as short as you need to fit a dining table, console, or countertop. So have fun with it! But if you want to make this one like I have for the Fourth of July, here’s how!
-Choose unwired ribbon of any length and color.
-Grosgrain or Satin work well.
-Choose contrasting or blending thread color.
-Use a zig zag stitch on your sewing machine and stitch the ribbons together side by side.
-Make it as wide as you’d like!
You can also leave about 8 inches of both ends un-sewn for a bit of movement. That would be kinda cute out on a picnic table blowing in the wind and such. If you use a ribbon that tend to fray, either burn the ends with a match or trim using pinking sheers! Ribbon also come in various widths…I used about 2 inch wide ribbon, but smaller would look lovely as would a combination! There’s really no wrong way to do this! And it’s like the easiest sewing project to do for a beginner, so keep that in mind if you are learning to sew or if you’re teaching someone else! Definitely a voila project!
Here’s my video of when I made this for HSN! And if you choose to make one too, please show our community of Hosts using #IamAhostOfThingsToo on Instagram!
